oil rig fire* the gulf of mexico on course to become the next dead sea

*originally I had explosion but the media has since downgraded this to fire.  There's been so many conflicting reports about this incident I'm not sure what to believe.  Maybe keeping us confused is a good way to divert attention from the oil sheen spotted earlier which has mysteriously disappeared.
